Tires are important components of wheeled tractors. Improper use and maintenance can easily cause early wear, tear, and breakage during work, which not only increases repair costs but also consumes time and effort. Therefore, the correct use and safekeeping of tires have significant practical significance.
1. Adjust the tire pressure correctly. The air pressure has a significant impact on the service life of tires. Low air pressure causes significant deformation of the tire, making the tire fabric layer prone to breakage, delamination, and delamination; High air pressure, especially in high summer temperatures, often leads to tire bursts. According to surveys, in terms of front tire damage, some front tire damage reasons are often due to insufficient or excessive air pressure.
To ensure the correct air pressure, attention should be paid during work: ① Regularly check the tire pressure with a pressure gauge, and the error should be less than 0.02 MPa. Generally, the air pressure value of agricultural tires is 0.20-0.25 MPa; ② According to different temperatures, appropriate reserves for thermal expansion and contraction should be reserved during inflation; ③ Regularly check whether the valve core is deflated and whether there are iron nails and sharp stones on the tread.
2. Ensure reasonable load. Overloading tires can cause rapid damage, especially to trailer tires. So when considering the normal load of tires, it is best to use 80% to 90% of the maximum load, and overload is absolutely prohibited. For example, 6.00-16 tires have a maximum load of 550 kilograms. If this load is frequently exceeded, the service life will be shortened by about half. Moreover, overloading the tractor poses serious safety issues.
3. Correct positioning of the front wheels. The main reasons for changes in tractor front wheel alignment are improper installation and adjustment, as well as changes in wear and tear of certain parts. After positioning damage, it not only affects walking and steering, but also causes tire bias wear and early scrapping. To ensure the correct positioning of the front wheels, it is necessary to: ① regularly inspect and adjust according to regulations; ② After the steering joint is worn, it should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner; ③ Regularly check whether the wheel nuts and bolts are tightened, and whether the bearings are loose; ④ After the deformation of the front beam and half axle, it should be corrected in a timely manner.
4. Precautions during operation. During tractor driving, on the basis of strictly complying with traffic laws, regulations, and operating procedures, the following aspects should be achieved as much as possible to extend the service life of the tires. The main goal is to achieve smooth starting and stopping, avoid using sharp brakes, adhere to medium speed driving, pay attention to selecting the road surface, and do not drive at high speed on uneven roads. Try to avoid wear and damage caused by abnormal deformation, impact, etc. of the tires. At the same time, the pressure of the left and right tires should be consistent, with the new and old tires being consistent, to avoid eccentric wear. If the wear is uneven, the left and right tires can be used interchangeably. When replacing a new tire, it should be replaced in pairs on the same axle.
5. Storage of tires. Regularly remove dirt from tires and try not to stick corrosive substances such as oil, acid, or alkali to prevent tires from aging faster. After parking, try to avoid tire wind, sunlight, and rain, and it is best to park in a dry garage. When parking during leisure time, the tires should be supported to avoid local deformation of the tires. The storage time of tires should not be too long (such as more than 2 years), otherwise it will shorten their lifespan.
